Quy Nhon is a chill coastal city in Vietnam, about 6 hours south of its more popular neighbor, Da Nang.
We spent about ten days relaxing in the city, enjoying the beach in the center, local bars, restaurants and did some exploring of the surroundings accessible by public transport!

Quy Nhon -> Nhon Hai Beach 🚌 (T21)
We took the bus from the stop infront of the Co.op Mart, the bus stop here had roof, small benches and a time table with what seemed to be fairly accurate departure times. The trip took about 45 minutes and cost 20,000 VND per person. There is AC in the bus, but it’s not very cool. It worked better on the way back.
There was someone at the stop who asked where we were going and made sure to flag down the right bus for us, but each bus has it’s number clearly shown on the front. Everyone rushed onto the bus when it arrived, but there were enough seats and it never filled up. I’m assuming they only accept cash or QR codes like all the other public transport in Vietnam. You buy your ticket directly on the bus with a dedicated sales person who will come up to you.
We took the last bust of the afternoon back to Quy Nhon at 17h15 and it was on time, picking us up where we got off previously. The bus stop in Nhon Hai is also easily recognizable with a roof and benches.
Nhon Hai beach is definitely worth the trip, with clear waters, local fishing boats and two restaurants on the water where you can get shade and comfortable chairs for the low price of a 35,000 juice or smoothie.
You can also rent paddle boards to see coral reefs and fish, which we didn’t end up doing since the beach got pretty crowded towards the end of the day with local groups and families.

Quy Nhon -> Suối Mơ Waterfalls (T1)
This trip was a flop unfortunately. We picked up the bus at the stop in front of the Quy Nhon General Hospital, and it seems if there are papers with the bus number and time table, it will pass by that particular stop. The stops often come up on Google Maps if you search bus stop. The bus was on time, and more modern than the previous fleet we had taken. It goes past the Tháp Đôi Champa Towers so it seems you could get off there to explore as well.
The flop comes from the fact that we were expecting to be taken to Suối Mơ park we saw on the map, but the bus dropped us off in the middle of a big road about 2km away and told us to walk the rest…😂
We started walking down the road and made it about 15 minutes under the sun, passing by some houses but seeing no signs of a park – and since we were cutting it a bit tight for the last bus on the way back, we decided to give up and turn around. The bus on the way back was older than the other one, and had no AC.
